Welcome to Cubalot - Cub Day Camp 2014

There is a small corner in this big wide world
Where the air is charged with MAGIC,
Where STARS sparkle in the light of day,
and LAUGHTER rings like crystal
Down through the valleys....

Welcome to
Cubalot!

What does it take to host a District Day Camp - especially with a district the size of Porter Rockwell District?

Well, it begins with a PLAN for lots and lots of busy, hands-on fun things for young hands to do:

And along with the plan, you've just got to have supplies. Lots and lots of SUPPLIES:

Add to the mix, BOYS and LEADERS and STAFF MEMBERS and a whole lot of FUN ACTIVITIES! AND YOU HAVE A SURE FIRE FORMULA FOR A GREAT DAY CAMP EXPERIENCE START TO FINISH!

SUCCESS! - A DAY FOR THE BOYS TO REMEMBER
SUCCESS! - A DAY TO LEARN NEW SKILLS

SUCCESS! - A TIME TO BE ACTIVE

AND SUCCESS! - A TIME TO BE IN AWE!

Thank youKirsten Johnson for leading the District through another very Successful Day Camp for it's Cub Scouts!  No one could count the number of hours put in by you and your staff to make this experience what it was!  Thank you to every person who served on staff, and to your families for the sacrifices they made that allowed you to give this service to the community.   Thank You all for your skills and your energy and your commitment.   You are what makes Cub Scouting work for the boys in our Porter Rockwell District!   THANK YOU!

  1. Wow!! Fantastic post!! There is NO WAY any of camp could have happened without out Program Director, Debbie Gulledge. Her hubby, Kevin, is a HUGE help every year (he's the guy wearing the chain mail in the pictures above). Jennifer Thomas kept us in line with all of the BSA National Camp Standards we adhere to so that we can have a safe and FUN camp. Jennifer also helped a TON with other campy staff stuff.

THANK YOU to all of the Cubs that attended!!!! We do all of this for YOU!

    1. Does anyone have a list of achievements or electives that would have been passed off at camp for Wolf's and Bear's? Tried to go through the stations and connect them with the books but having a hard time. Don't want to miss anything. Thanks!!
